Chapter 37: Soiled knickers and tearful goodbyes. I won’t forget you, Raunch.

“Meh. Dun’ think it wusso bad? O’I ‘ad to wear mushy kickers fa’ tew days on the boat, Kan’ee. Toilet paypah is the ultimate invention.” Raunch’s face is cheerful, and focused on an imaginary scene; What does the space he stares off into look like?

“Much like yours, Young Emery.”

“Gah!” You can see me? “You can see me?” Holy shit, I can feel myself. What the hell?

“This is quite astounding; it seems you managed to focus with such intensity that you willed yourself to another loc—”

“I teleported!” Yes! “Can I do it again?”

“O’I would wage’uh yes. ‘Summin’ you don’t ‘over ovah me face again… I thought you were gonna try ‘en eat me again!” Raunch erupts with laughter. “Me an’ me ghastly clo’then! Ba! Ha! Ha! Ha!”

How can I throw myself a pity party with this kid around? “Fair enough. But, you’re not going to be around long enough for that to happen, Raunch! We got work to do! For you see, I am the great cloak-bearer!” Yea!

“You definitely must be daft! Ba! Ha! Ha! Wha’ a silly pose! You look loike you ‘ave the runs an’ a bloke just strong armed ya’ in the belly! Whooooo! O’I’m croy’en! Whoooo!” Raunch floats vertically and slaps his knee.

“I guess that was a little exaggerated.”

We laugh harder when Kanti chuckles.

“The passionate spirit of happy humans. Truly a sight to behold. Are you ready Raunch?” Kanti asks delicately.

Raunch nods enthusiastically. A tear rolls down his cheek. “O’I was dead ready!” He laughs. “Tally-ho!” Raunch levitates toward me. He grins when his feet touch the ground.

My palm hovers over his mind’s eye. Stay calm. Stay calm. Stay calm… Inhale. Exhale. Energy flows from the center of my palm through my body. I can feel it in my heart, in a weird way. It’s pure, positive. High resonance. High Resonance. Inhale. Not this one. Exhale. Blue light surrounds my palm, gradually tracing Raunch.

“It’s beau’iful!” Raunch happily weeps. He fades with the glow of the blue light.

Goodbye, Raunch.
